The host introduces himself

In 1985 my wife, Sandra, and I held our wedding celebrations in the historic Zunftsaal. After numerous successful assignments in the Swiss hotel and catering industry – from Toggenburg to Buochs on Lake Lucerne and on to Küsnacht on Lake Zurich – we have returned 10 years later in our professional capacities to the Zunfthaus zur Waag and have been the hosts of this time-honored gem on the Münsterhof since 2004.

Although the Zunfthaus zur Waag is already several hundred years old it is livelier today than it ever was. It is imbued with the enthusiasm of a team sincerely dedicated to inspiring their guests. This takes more than just excellent cuisine. It requires a genuine passion for hospitality, which is the only way to convey joie de vivre, warmth and a sense of well being – and that is exactly what our guests should find at the Zunfthaus zur Waag.

Hospitality as a raison d'être: That is what I represent every day – personal commitment, inexhaustible creativity and great pleasure – because I am not only pursuing professional goals, but also seeking personal satisfaction in the art of giving the same attention and a feeling of belonging to every single guest. This is an art that I also appreciate when I am a guest myself.
